The Patient Relationship is primarily responsible for contacting and interviewing patients prior to their appointments. This includes obtaining medical and surgical history. The position also requires supporting the Call Center by pr***ding effective customer service to patients, vendors, insurance companies and other medical facilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Contact patients via telephone prior to their scheduled appointment.
· Interview patients over the telephone to obtain a complete and accurate medical history, including surgical history and medications.
· Enter all patient data into electronic medical record within a timely fashion from phone contact prior to patient meeting with physician.
· Complete all patient phone call assignments as assigned.
· Answer phones in the Call Center as needed to respond to inquiries made by patients, vendors, insurance companies and other medical facilities.
· Re-schedule patient appointments as required via telephone calls and written notification to patients. · Screen and route patient calls to other departments efficiently, ensuring accurate registration, appointment scheduling and follow-up appointment scheduling in database.
· Assist other members of the PCR and Call Center departments as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum of a High School Diploma and 1 – 2 years of experience in customer service, or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Previous experience in a medical practice desired
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
· Exceptional phone manner
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical record (EMR) preferred
· Ability to apply knowledge of office procedures and carry out tasks accordingly
· Be a self-starter with attention to detail
· Must be flexible, organized, and function well under pressure
· Bi-lingual English/Arabic
